1 VELO-installation meeting CERN, January 17, 2006
preparation IP8-area SX8 moving SX8 -> IP8 IP8 UXA-C3 platform cables planning 19 January 2006 installation

2 preparation IP8-area 4 bolts for skates will only be bolted not bolted & glued. height needed for hook of crane ?? install crane. we drill holes for consoles for service platform and for LV- and HV-boxes. differential circuit breakers -> interaction with magnet ON, i.e., problems with regular 220 V. ≤1 cm of surface of concrete console can be used for egalisation. Correct ?? cleaned and painted. beam lines on floor and wall. What length + more lines needed ?? TL-illumination 19 January 2006 installation

3 photogrammetry @ SX8 shaft 2.5 m free space needed on each side
Centre Frame Fiducial Marks 2.5 m free space needed on each side of VELO-tank NIKHEF levels setup on floor photogrammetry uses 5 fiducial points on each side of center frame NIKHEF makes extensions for spheres from 3 -> 20 mm 19 January 2006 installation

4 photogrammetry @ SX8 Next determine detector positions
via 8 reference points on the “shell gauge”. SHELL GAUGE 19 January 2006 installation

5 moving VELO SX8 -> IP8 VELO corner 19 January 2006 installation

6 magnet moving VELO SX8 -> IP8 RICH1
Send actual VELO-dimensions (without hoods) to Olivier Jamet. 19 January 2006 installation

7 moving VELO SX8 -> IP8 Correct dimensions of skates assumed ??
19 January 2006 installation

8 alignment @ IP8 first RICH1 needs to be put back
rough positioning by NIKHEF by means of beam line projections on floor and walls precise alignment by CERN with theodolites: Dx = Dy = Dz = 0.5 mm (1s) Df = 0.1 mrad in polar angle nominal position of detectors inside is based on reference marks on the outside of the tank. This procedure requires rapid conversion and feedback, i.e. preparation beforehand. 19 January 2006 installation

9 UXA-C3 platform layout in EDMS 679336 cable trays arrive at the top
do the cables enter PLC racks from top/bottom ?? how about Adriana’s rack ?? dimensions chiller racks ?? lekbak needed under chillers. 19 January 2006 installation

10 cables front view extra duct in existing trays top view
by middle of March cable order needs to be checked pull cables a.s.a.p. top view 19 January 2006 installation

11 planning all IP-8 preparations done or almost done before we decide to move arrival of CERN defines t=0 NIKHEF starts at t=-3 weeks positioning and SX8 takes 1 week going 100 m down + pass behind magnet to IP8 takes 1 week put back RICH1 + rough positioning takes 1 week install dust covers iterative alignment procedure with theodolites takes 1 week installation of pumps, pipes, power, etc. can then start installation of service platform foreseen around mid April when the mounting of connectors can start depends on pulling of cables. final schedule will be made in the course of next week by Rolf Lindner after news from exit foil + beam pipe. in present preliminary schedule t=0 is on Wednesday March 15 -> start packing at NIKHEF on Wednesday February 22 -> 4.5 weeks left for testing at NIKHEF 19 January 2006 installation
