 Power struggle  Political strategy  Sales campaign  Philosophical argument  Teamwork boosting STATUS QUO IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH

 Need to think differently in order to become different so that we will be treated differently  Need to implement a set of practical actions with that outcome in mind

DEFINITION: Combining parts so that they work together to form an effectively functioning whole that benefits the entire enterprise better than what can be accomplished by the individual parts

 Enables leaders to tackle the most complicated problems and make better decisions.  Integrative Thinking is the ability to constructively face the tensions of opposing models, and instead of choosing one at the expense of the other,  generate a creative resolution that honors important elements of individual models, but is superior to each.  It is a pattern of effective problem solving that can be developed and learned

 An internal community development process  A relationship building business  A values proposition  A culture of everyone being appreciated, respected, and supported  A trust issue  An innovative collaborative leadership approach  A striving for integration, on becoming a line of business and service that is essential and necessary in the overall character and identity of the institution

 On winning central administration  On being a leader of change and innovation  On being a model of best practices  On being valued and appreciated  On being a vital part of the whole

 COMMENTS?  What are OTHER DRIVERS AND STRATEGIES THAT MIGHT INCREASE INTEGRATION AT YOUR INSTITUTION?
