College of ACES Structure Where does the ACES Alumni Association fit into the College? ACES Advancement IL 4-H Foundation Alumni Relations Marketing

ACES Alumni Association History College of Agriculture Alumni Association Began in 1956 Supporters believed that such an organization could effectively promote student enrollments, to foster college wide programs and activities, and provide a system for alumni recognition, gifts, and endowments. Above all, the organization was needed to help renew alumni "spirit" and pride in the past history and accomplishments of the College. Meeting participants also expressed a need for renewed College and alumni spirit and an improved capability to lobby for increased College funding and badly needed capital improvements. School of Human Resources and Family Studies Alumni Association Began in 1974 - The first meeting of the Home Economics Alumni Association was held, Saturday morning, November 9, 1974, Student Lounge, Bevier Hall. Many changes were taking place that called for support of alumni during this time: The Department of Home Economics changed from a Department to a School status, new name. Financial support was needed. State Funds available for new or replacement equipment, and money for expenses had decreased. Giving by alumni and friends of the School became increasing important and necessary in order to maintain a continued degree of excellence in education. Student recruitment and job placement of graduates was a concern for both faculty and alumni. Merger In 2006, the ACES Alumni Association celebrated the 50th anniversary with the Agriculture and Home Economics Alumni Association merging in 1995 to become the College of ACES Alumni Association.
