® H.Gross Tender Cedefop VET Professions Objectives of the contract: Develop a common competence framework for VET professions in the EU based on the identification of core functions and activities carried out by VET teachers and trainers within their changing working environment(s)

® H.Gross Tender Cedefop VET Professions The common competence framework shall support policy-makers and practitioners in fostering and facilitating: the transparency of competences and qualifications of VET teachers and trainers; recruitment, mobility (geographical and occupational) and professional development; the establishment and/or the further development of competence/qualification frameworks/standards for VET teachers and trainers at national/sector level

® H.Gross Tender Cedefop VET Professions The sample shall include professional profiles for VET teachers and trainers whose skills, knowledge and competences relate to levels 5-7 of the European Qualifications (EQF) Frameworks developed at EU level

® H.Gross Tender Cedefop VET Professions Special attention should be given (1) to innovative/emerging profiles and competences economic, social and technological challenges facing VET professions measures implemented at national/sectoral/organisational level to help VET teachers and trainers tackle those challenges roles and responsibilities of VET teachers and trainers

® H.Gross Tender Cedefop VET Professions Special attention should be given (2) activities carried out by VET teachers and trainers within their working context, including new/emerging activities and trends competences required of VET teachers and trainers and how they are identified and acquired (training, at work, etc.) the unchanging core of the profession contrasted with the changes in competences taking place in the evolving parts of the profession impact of quality assurance approaches and lifelong learning strategies on the activities and competences of VET teachers and trainers

® H.Gross Tender Cedefop VET Professions Conclusions, with a special focus on: the professional identity focus; the professional trends and common issues, including the specificity of VET profession related to the context within which they operate; the (new) competences required, in terms of knowledge, skills and wider competences Recommendations to policy-makers, training organisations and professional associations on the conditions to be met to successfully support the appropriate training and professional development of the VET professions studied
