Safety Health Environment Quality Driven from Director level down Sharing best practice across organisation SHEQ manager(s) deliver compliance functions Ownership at local level Babcock staff & supply chain partners have a part to play Forums for safety and working groups Driving cultural change through Home Safe Every Day Programme Moral, legal and financial reasons for good H & S provision

Safety a clear view

Behaviours, attitudes and actions that we expect from our people Safety Principles Management Commitments Commitments that the company should make to its people Expectations Behaviours, attitudes and actions that we expect from our people Learning from each other Importance of sharing what works and what doesn’t

Home Safe Every Day We believe all our employees and others working on or visiting our operations should be able to return home safe and well at the end of the working day

Accidents/Incidents and Near-Misses on Babcock Sites When working on a Babcock company site – any accidents/incidents and near-misses must be reported to a Babcock representative The accident book and near miss forms are readily available This enables proper records to be maintained and after investigation - reviews and remedial action as appropriate Reducing the chance of harm to another person in the future

The Aim It is, and always will be, the Babcock vision to get incident occurrences down towards the zero level in line with the ‘Home Safe Every Day’ ethos.

Babcock Expectations of Suppliers Mature health and safety management system and policies Insurances Effective control of risks and safe methods to deliver services Competence and compliance ISO and other certifying body accreditations No placing economic reward above safety requirements Suitable controls if sub-contracting out work, to reduce risks to all parties Being able to ensure that contractors and suppliers are competent and trained in health and safety is important. This will benefit suppliers by preventing loss of business and Babcock and its clients by ensuring safe working and supplies. Ensuring reputation - When incidents occur organisations need to show that they were working in a healthy manner and need to know that their supplies or contractors were not to blame. Therefore, high health and safety standards are important to maintain the reputation of all organisations in the supply chain. Babcock E & CS has accreditation for PAS 99 (2012) covering 9001, 14001 and 18001.

Expectations of Suppliers On-site Work collaboratively with Babcock, in relation to creating a safer environment for all persons If under contractor pass or PTW staying within the terms of these Delivery of ‘safe by design’ items and products to reduce risk to Babcock and its clients Share industry best practice in relation to H & S To follow Babcock site rules, in particular traffic management routes and speed restrictions

Communications Babcock understands the importance of effective communication with its supply chain: Supplier approval process sets out the H & S standards required and allows for dialogue Ensuring KPIs are fully understood and the importance of adherence to them and the wider implications of safety failings to the general public (due to nature of Babcock clients services) Pre – works correspondence in the event of contractors coming onto site – including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) Local site rules for contractors and details of any restrictions Notification from supplier to changes in method and SSOW

SHEQ Alerts An invaluable tool in the dissemination of safety information Internal or external based Shared with customers and suppliers Shared across Mobile Assets business sectors Colour coded to show type of alert – Green, Amber and Red SHEQ alerts will be also sent to suppliers if they are relevant. Require details of your safety leads to facilitate this.

Information Security Babcock has Level 3 Information Assurance Maturity Model status We need to ensure our supply chain partners can protect our information Site specific arrangements – All secure sites Site access and booking in/out procedures CCTV – provided at sites for H & S and security purposes, personnel who can access have been trained Non Disclosure agreements, working with competitors, Emergency preparedness and accounting of persons in an emergency, DPA training for CCTV

Quality standards Checks carried out when booking goods in Quality checks/audits both internal and at PSP locations to maintain outputs; interlinks with safety Maintenance of contractual KPIs, through continual assessment of supplier performance Dealing with non-conformance Public safety critical equipments, Live dashboards and reports Trend analysis, Warranty repair status, engineering solutions

Environmental Aspects Babcock is fully committed to sustainable operations and reducing our impact on the environment: All identified aspects are risk assessed and targets set for real time reductions Assisting clients in driving down service CO2 footprints Member of the Carbon Trust and achieving year on year reductions in CO2 production Using conference calling to reduce fuel burn and still achieve business goals

Supply Chain Assistance Shortly, Babcock will begin to use a new sustainability reporting software programme to improve the environmental reporting. Supply chain partners can help by: Providing leaner packaging that can always be re- used or recycled, reducing operational waste going to landfill Plan deliveries of goods out of peak traffic periods where possible. Assist with Babcock CO2 reporting by providing fuel use or mileage information (new contracts will require this). Using low emissions vehicles and alternative green vehicles This will allow for better targeting of initiatives
