Personal Development Portfolio (PDP) PDP is an continuing activity where you actively consider your career and development goals, and plan activities to help you achieve these goals

Personal Development Portfolio (PDP) (Continued) 3 stage process:  Deciding what your objectives or goals are  Evaluating your current position in relation to these goals  Deciding an action plan to get from your current position to achieve those objectives.

Deciding Objectives and Goals  What you wish to achieve in terms of both personal and professional development.  What do you want to achieve after university?  What do you want to achieve at university?

Top 10 Skills that Employer Want  Commercial awareness  Communication skills  Teamwork skills  Negotiation and persuasion skills  Problem solving ability  Leadership ability  Organisational skills  Motivation  Ability to work under pressure  Confidence

Medium Term Goals  What do you want to achieve from this semester  In class for example getter better grades in each module  You also need to look at the barriers that might come in between to achieve your goals.

Measuring the Success  Setting a tangible goal For example trying to get scholarship by getting good grades and having good attendance record.

Evaluating your current position (reflection process)  How successful was your personal activity before your entry?  What were your strength and weakness?  What evidence can you point to justify your assessment?
