 Relative Location: A location of a place in relation to another place (i.e. south or downhill).  Geography: The study of the earth, this includes studying location, regions, physical and human environment interaction and economy.  Compass rose: a symbol on a map that tells you’re the cardinal directions ( n,s,e,w)  Continent: a large land mass on earth, we have 7 continents  Globe: a model of the earth that shows the shape, lands, distances, and directions  Equator: imaginary line that circles the earth like a belt and separates the earth into 2 hemispheres.  Latitude: the way to measure distance in degrees north and south of the Equator  Degrees: A way to measure distance on a map using longitude and latitude.  Prime Meridian: has a value of 0 degrees, runs from the North Pole to the South pole and is measured in 180 degrees East and West of the globe.  Hemispheres: when the lines of latitude divide the earth into half spheres.  Cartographer: the name given to people who study and draw maps.
