EATM12-08 Contribution NA62 Francois Butin, Lau Gatignon / EN-MEF 4 September 2012

P42 and K12 beam lines The collimator preparation has progressed well, all five still remain to be installed. Two MTR magnets must be installed on their plugin bases. The connection of all magnets to P&E is well under way. Covers to be mounted. Tests and polarity checks start by mid September. The mounting of the TAX tables is about to start. The blocks will be installed in October. The TAX and target cooling must be installed, the equipment is ready in Italy. The Big Fisc must be constructed and installed. The cabling for the instrumentation in the dump tunnel is there, but the equipment remains to be installed. The experimental scalers and timing distribution must be checked. The beam vacuum must be completed (P42 and K12), almost all pieces exist. The vacuum tank in the dump tunnel must be realigned (40 mm offset). A final alignment check will be made, including the TBIU (6 mm offset!). At the end the shielding must be installed and all access doors and fences put in place. Also the air locks at the end of the 853 and 854 galleries must be operational. RP monitoring must be in place. The Cesar software is taking good shape.

DETECTORS AND BLUE TANK The blue tank vacuum must be installed and the agreed interlocks and signals provided. The Straw-1 installation will start in about two weeks from now, with preparations starting this week. The vacuum windows for the CEDAR will be produced next week (September 10 th ) and installed before the mounting of the KTAG on the CEDAR from the 17 th onward. In parallel MUV2/3 cabling work will continue. Details will be discussed in a dedicated meeting tomorrow.
