July 9-11 2014 LEReC layout @ 2:00 5

July 9-11 2014 Details of modifications Modifications to existing buildings: - Prepare B1002d – remove walls, upgrade floor, doors, air conditioning & provide power & tray to racks. (partially funded by North Complex). Modifications to the RHIC tunnel: -Relocate section gate/vapor barrier, add beam dump support Provide access ports: -New 16” port for cooling section & ports for wave guide & cables near gun Distribution of existing power - 323 kw of 480v power, 113 kw of 208/110v power Cable tray & conduit -550’ of tray, 200’ of conduit Distribution of cooling water -Extension of 225’ of 4” pipe, 250’ of 2” pipe Distribution of dry air system -Addition of dryers to existing system & distribution of dry air to devices 6

July 9-11 2014 Parameters Power required --------------- 436 kW (455 kW instantaneous) Water cooling required ---- 334 kW Air conditioning required --- 54 kW (15 tons) 7

July 9-11 2014 Procurements Facility modifications Access port contracts ---------------------------------------- 65K Air conditioning contracts ----------------------------------- 31K Power Power distribution – cable, power panels, conduit ---163K Tray & fittings -------------------------------------------------- 44K Water cooling Water distribution pipe & fittings --------------------------- 69K Air distribution pipe & dryers -------------------------------- 36K Chiller ------------------------------------------------------------- 35K 8

July 9-11 2014 Milestones Milestones given are at the 95% level.
