Weaknesses: The crash of almost big industry in the late ’90 that implied the decrease of innovation activities, technological progress and young people interest in Science and Technology; The old industries are replaced by corporations, who come for lower price qualified human resources without any innovative contribution, and low competitive SMEs; The gap between SEE region and Central Europe increased. RO, is a catching-up country (BG, HU, SK) with EIS under the EU average value (The European Innovation Scoreboard); The growth of economy is hindered by the lack of advanced technologies and an adequate culture of and for innovation.
