Welcome to EET! ·This is an important semester for you! ·I will give you an introduction to Employment and Training course information and units competency assessment guidelines.

Units and contents I am going to cover 3 EET units, namely “Organize and complete a job application”, including to 1.Identify job ads and write a resume 2.Write a job application covering letter 3.Read job opportunities in online and digital context 4.Use and emerging technologies to search and apply for jobs, and 5.Implement job interview skills

Unit Title: Use emerging technology to search and apply for a job Unit Code: NSWTTCH203B In this unit you will develop the skills and knowledge you need to search for employment opportunities and apply for a job using a range of Information Communication Technologies (ICTs). The unit is suitable for first time job seekers as well as people seeking career development or promotion. When you complete this unit you will be able to:  search for a job using emerging technologies  apply for a job using emerging technologies

Preparing and submitting a job application using technology The evidence will demonstrate: -Skills to read and interpret information presented in a range of formats -Preparation of personal information in an appropriate format -Knowledge of and skill in complying with communication and ethical conventions, e.g. netiquette, privacy, confidentiality -Completed job application documentation is suitable for audience and context -Completed job application documentation satisfies all specified requirements

Assessment tasks Forms of evidence that will satisfy course requirements include portfolio of written tasks: 1. Identifying job search websites 2. Using job search sources to look for a job 3. Using job application forms & worksheets 4. Writing a resume 5. Writing a cover letter 6. Participating in a simulated job interview 7. Completing self assessment sheets

Conditions of assessment 1. Job application documents are to be presented in hard copy or submitted electronically - Using standard conventions of format and layout - Including drafted and edited versions to ensure that correct conventions of language, grammar and spelling have been used 2. Simulation of online contexts is acceptable in situations where access to the internet is restricted 3. length of documents and attachments may vary, according to the requirements of the context 4. Use modelling of texts and tasks 5. Can access to support as required

Assessment Conditions 1.Context must provide for unfamiliar and/or unpredictable workplace contexts and texts 2.Minimal level of support 3.Legible and clearly formatted electronic and handwritten texts 4.Can use dictionary and/or thesaurus
