Focus: Mythology; Greek Mythology Historical Character: Poseidon Contemporary Character: Aqua Man What is Greek Mythology? Greek mythology are myths and legends belonging to the ancient Greeks. Concerning their Gods, and hero's, the nature of the world, and origins and significance of their own ritual practices

P o s e i d o n A b o u t P o s e i d o n Poseidon is the son of the Titan God, Cronus and Rhea He is the God of the sea, earthquakes, storms, and horses Poseidon lives in the Sea and he rules his kingdom Atlantis Poseidon is the main reason troy was destroyed When the Trojans were to accept the Trojan horse they didn't believe at first, a non believer made fun and Poseidon sent sea serpents to kill him, thus causing the Trojans to take in the horse, then the fall of troy.

P o s e i d o n B a c k g r o u n d I n f o r m a t i o n Poseidon’s spouse is Amphitrite and has 7 children Poseidon’s siblings are Zeus, Hades, Demeter, Hestia, and Hera Poseidon has multiple symbols, a Trident, fish, dolphin, horse, and a bull. When he was born, Poseidon’s father Cronus tried to eat him Poseidon was saved by his mother Rhea, who concealed him among a flock of lambs and pretended to have given birth to a colt, which she gave to Cronus to eat instead. Poseidon’s features are considered to be flowing hair, beard, deep blue eyes, carried a trident, muscular

Aqua Man About Aqua Man Real Name: Arthur Curry, Orin Aqua Man’s left hand was once replaced with a harpoon Aqua Man uses gills to breathe underwater, and can communicate telepathically with all forms of sea life Aqua Man became the defender of the Earth’s oceans after realizing his powers

Aqua Man Back Round Information Nickname: King of the Seven Seas Aqua Man is a fictional superhero who is the star in many DC comic books. The comics created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger The first ever Aqua Man was debuted in More fun comics #73 in Aqua Man was a founding leader of the Justice League of America(comic book series) Aqua Man’s features include blonde hair, muscular body, gills, half of a human body, half of a underwater animal body

Comparisons Both of their strengths are water. They also can communicate with sea animals They both have had many great adventures In many ways you could say that Aqua Man is the new, less angry version of Poseidon. They both rule the seas. Finally they both like horses. These are the similarities that they share.

Reason for Choices I have a lot of interest in Greek Mythology Poseidon is my favorite Greek God Aqua Man makes sense, his power is water as well They both are interesting myths
