HIIT INTERVAL TRAINING APP IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION HEIDI AVROV

WHAT IS HIIT? HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. It involves doing short bouts of high intensity exercise followed by short resting periods. The HIIT Interval Training App allows one to set up specific time increments for which they will be performing their HIIT routine. For example, they may choose to work for 30 seconds and rest for 15 seconds, for a total of 5 rounds. A person simply enters this information and the app will signal every work/rest period. WHAT DOES THE APP DO?

HOW CAN THIS BE HELPFUL IN PE? Students can break up into groups and create their own HIIT routines with this app No longer have to rely on teachers to signal every “stop” and “go” Breaking up exercise into short segments may seem less boring to some students and not as intimidating as for example a 30 minute run Quick and effective way to get students in healthier and in better shape

GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR WORKOUT The HIIT Interval Training App allows students to personalize their work time and rest period to either maintain their current fitness level or challenge themselves Athletes and physically fit students can set their app to 8 rounds of 40 seconds of work with 10 seconds of rest Less physically active students can set their app to 5 rounds of 30 seconds work with 30 seconds rest

STUDENTS IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASS CAN WORK ON: Increasing the number of rounds for each exercise segment Decreasing rest time needed before they can start exercising again with maximal effort

WHY SHOULD YOU DOWNLOAD THIS APP FOR YOU PE CLASS??? Smoother transitions during stations and interval training workouts Individually designed for each student Can set goals and work on improving them Specific work/rest times to either focus on building muscles, toning, moderate exercise, vigorous exercise, ect. HIIT is a great way to change up your class’ usual cardio workout to keep kids excited and motivated

The HIIT Interval Training App can be downloaded for FREE from the Google Play Store! Just search: HIIT Interval Training Timer Click on the first option Created by Giorgio Regni
