Women are the most affected by climate change

It is girls’ futures most at stake because of climate change

Policies, programmes and treaties to combat climate change will be more successful if girls and young women are at their heart.

BUT…

Less than half a cent of every US dollar spent on international assistance programmes is invested directly in girls and the UNFCCC does not mention girls or even gender.

World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts Environment Programme Raises awareness and mobilizes action amongst WAGGGS ten million members and their 50million strong communities Develops and implements local community projects Ensures the girl voice contributes to the environmental debate and young women are empowered to influence the environmental agenda Actively contributes to environmental campaigns and partnerships Ensures that broad development issues, such as education and equality, are at the heart of environmental frameworks and programmes
