Law Student Division Assembly The Assembly is the policymaking body of the Division. The Assembly is the policymaking body of the Division. Grant Program Purpose The Division’s Grant Program was created to provide financial and program support to student organizations at ABA-approved law schools for newly established programs and other activities that: –Provide professionalism and ethics training –Promote diversity in legal education and the legal profession –Advance public interest efforts –Advance public service efforts

Grant Parameters Eligibility: Student organizations developing “first-time” programs or activities promoting diversity, professionalism and ethics training, public service/public interest initiatives. Preparing Your Application Each application should include: Detailed background information – Present a thorough and detailed case about the program or activity, including: –Origin of the program/activity –Purpose program/activity seeks to fulfill & means by which this will be accomplished –Administration participation/support –Target audience –Proposed speakers/participants –Marketing plan –Funding sources being sought/secured

Preparing Your Budget Provide a detailed budget of all anticipated expenses and funding. Don’t simply list $500 for a luncheon or marketing. Be specific about how you arrived at $500. Indicate the type of luncheon, cost per person. (Luncheon – catered from Ben’s Catering –sandwich box lunches at $6.50 per person plus tax for 70 ppl).
