The cover should: Answer the following question, why should I hire You? Grab the employer's attention. Point out why you above all other applicants should be given the job.
The writers address The recipient’s address The date A salutation A closing The writers name at the end
Covers letters are generally one page. In block style the date usually separates the two addresses. The letter is divided into three sections: The Salutation The Body The Closing.
Salutation: Dear Mr. James The Body: Paragraph 1: a) Introduce your self. b) identify the position in which you are interested. c) Tell how you heard of the position.
The Body (cont’d) Paragraph 2: a) Explain why you are qualified for the job. b) Highlight your experiences and any other activities you are involved in.
The Body (cont’d) Paragraph 3: a) Make reference to your resume. b) Open the door to make further contact.
