The Pharmacy Technician Informatics group is dedicated to the continuing education and training of VA Pharmacy technicians by: Developing computer-based modules with a standardized core in an easy to use format, focusing on the functions generally used by all pharmacy technicians. Providing innovative ways to formally train new and existing pharmacy technicians to reflect the complexity and scope of today’s VA technicians. Updating the existing modules for any software upgrades and/or process changes. Pharmacy Technician Informatics Workgroup Mission Statement

Today’s Objectives: List the completed pharmacy technician training modules and some lessons learned. Describe the current work in progress and some difficulties encountered. Discuss topics for future training modules. Pharmacy Technician Informatics Workgroup

Feedback from new employee: “ As a new employee, I used the training modules and found them to be a great help. A lot of things I didn’t know were step-by-step illustrated in the module making it easy to execute the task I was trying to do. So my overall assessment of them, is that they can be a very good reference for both new and present employees.”
