Switch papers with the person sitting next to you. They will be grading your answers. Question #1: What is the title of the album? Answer #1: The Road Up

Question #2: What is the name of the musician? Answer #2: Joyce Raskin

Question #3: Count how many images you see in the collage. Write your guess down. Answer #3: 18 If the person guessed between a range of you can mark it correct.

Question #4: Make a list of all the items you see in the collage below. Answer #4: girl with glasses, Hollywood sign, airplane, Clouds, Actress (Drew Barrymore), Paparazzi, limousine, Stack of money, Eiffle Tower, screaming fans, tour bus, Rolling Stone logo, MTV logo, VIP Pass, London skyline, Silouhette of girl with guitar, gold record, black border If the person wrote down atleast 10 of these items mark this answer correct.

Question #5: Metacognition challenge: What do the images have to do with the title of the album? What is the story being told? Answer #5: The album photo-collage is showing “The road up” to fame for a musician. It shows the transformation from a geeky little shy girl to a famous rock star. The adoring fans, limousines, tour bus, cash, paparazzi following her around, doing movies, performing on television (MTV). If the person explained something along these lines give them full credit.

Extra Credit Raskin is my maiden name, and while these pictures are not of Me, most of these things happened to me when I was 21 years Old. Can you guess which ones are true? TRUE: I rode in a limosuine many times with record company people going to big events and getting taken out to dinner in Los Angeles, London, and New York City.

I made money as a musician on a major record label playing bass guitar and singing travelling to places like London and Paris. I hung out with famous movie stars including Drew Barrymore. I played at festivals in front of thousands of people. I was on MTV, and in Rolling Stone magazine several times. I got VIP backstage passes to meet famous rock stars.

FALSE I never got famous enough to have a plane with my name on it. I never had the Paparrazzi follow me around. If the person got any of these right give them the extra credit.

Total up the person’s score and give them a grade. Don’t forget to add the extra credit if they got it right. 5 or more A+ 5/5=A 4/5=B 3/5=C 2/5=D 1/5=F When you are done. Pass them back to your neighbor so they can see their score. Then I will collect them.

Photocollage Process Let’s look at the many versions I did on this photocollage, so you can see how many images I collected and how many changes I made to get this to the final image I showed you. I did this in two hours. If I was doing an album cover for a client I would have spent much more time on this, most likely a year, And many more changes.
