Unit 12 Additional Evidence Nihal

1.1 I can describe what types of information are needed. Business card Business cards are important because they show that you are a legitimate and real business. If you carry a business card then it says a lot about you; showing you are a real business person and really mean business. In my business card the top right it has two human skeletons one orange and one purple, I did this because it is my logo for my business so it should be on my card. At the bottom right it has my address, phone number, fax and so that the person having my card can contact me in a way which is convenient to them. The bottom left it has my name and my job position so that the person with it knows how important I am and that I am the right person for their query.

1.1 I can describe what types of information are needed. Letter Letterheads are important so that the person receiving the letter knows the importance of it and that it means they are a real company. A letter sent from a business with no letterhead wouldn’t be regarded as highly as one which was sent on letterheaded paper. In my letter head in the top right has my business logo which two human skeletons one orange and one purple because this is my logo and without it the person receiving the letter won’t know the letter has been sent from a real company. At the bottom I have included my ,telephone number, fax and address so that the person receiving the letter can contact the business in a way which is convenient to them as not everyone might have a phone or the internet ( account).

1.1 I can describe what types of information are needed. Newsletter Newsletters are important because they keep people up to date with news. If your company can print and distribute their own newsletter then it can help them get more publicity. My Newsletter contains articles so that I can inform people about new technology. Each article contains headings, pictures and text about the type of technology my business is about. The reason why I have added headings to my articles is so that the reader is aware of what they are reading and they contain pictures is that the reader can relate the article to an image. I included many things to publicise my business such as my logo’s, contact information and a paragraph about myself to show people that my company is the real company and not a scam company. I also thought it would be a good way to get people to remember my logo so that they recognise it.

1.2 I can describe how to change page design and layout to increase effectiveness of a publication. In Publisher there are several different templates you can use to increase the image you want to portray. Each template has a design set and colour scheme you can customise to meet the needs of your company. I chose to use the same design set and colour scheme for each of my publications so they looked more professional and made it clear my business is legitimate. I chose a colour scheme and design set which complemented my logo so that everything matched. I did this because I thought it looked more professional if it matched. If I had changed the design for one of my publications then it wouldn’t have looked as good and the person looking at it might not have known it my business and was legitimate.

2.3 Describe how copyright constraints affect use of own and others’ information. Copyright law is a law to make sure that someone doesn’t take an individuals work and make it as this as their own. This has affected my work as in my newsletter I used other people’s articles. If I didn’t reference these people properly then I could have been sued under the copyright law. In my research document, I included the websites for each article I used. Also, I added my logo to my source and store table as it was from vista print and not made by myself.

2.4 I can describe which file format to use for saving designs and images..PUB – stands for publisher this file type can’t be opened by most application.PDF – when the PDF first started it was very humble. Adobe programmers used to distribute documents among staff. PDF is still used now. Adobe claims that 200 million PDF documents..JPEG/.JPG – stands for expert photographer. it Is a standard compression of images. It has a ‘lossy’ format. It is ideal for displaying images on the web. It best for photographs.PNG – Stands for Portable Network Graphics it supports lossless data. It was created as an improved Gif Format.PSD – It stands Photoshop Document. It is used in adobe Photoshop. It is a default format that Photoshop saves on. This format allows the user to work with images on different layers even after it is saved.TIFF – Stands for Tagged image file format. It allows to include customized information with image

Publisher is a piece software we can use create brochures, business cards, calendars and different templates. However, if we were to send this document off to someone and they didn’t have publisher program then they would not be able to open the sent document. This problem can be overcome by making the document into, a PDF. PDF documents are documents that don’t require a specific piece of software to be seen. This is good because it means you don’t have to have a download the software or purchase the software. Picture files come in many formats. In my work I saved my logo as a PNG as this is a good quality picture file which has a transparent background. I could have saved it as a GIF or TIFF or even JPEG but did not think these were suitable due to file size and not needing better quality images. 2.4 I can describe which file format to use for saving designs and images.
