Traffic Lights Road Signs Road Markings Do Now: (Handout) Label Signs Activity

Traffic Lights regulate the flow of traffic Now draw a traffic light and label it. Red Light = STOP (Full Stop) Yellow Light = CAUTION Green Light = GO

Other traffic signals you have seen. Traffic Lights Making a Right or Left turn at a Red Light  Green Arrow Must come to a complete stop and proceed when safe. Other traffic signals you have seen.

Traffic Lights Flashing Lights: Flashing Red Light: Come to a full stop; 1st car has “Right of Way” Example: Hillcrest/Mountain Ave. Flashing Yellow Light: Use caution and proceed slowly through intersection

Traffic Lights Pedestrian Signal: Pedestrian symbol = walk Blinking Palm = stop if you can; continue if already crossing Stationary Palm = Stop – DO NOT cross

Regulatory Signs Regulate/control movement of traffic Laws you must obey COLORS: Red, White, Black, White on black, Red circle with slash through it.

Road Markings Yellow Lines Separate traffic going in opposite directions. one solid two solid (cannot pass) 1 solid and 1 broken (can pass on broken side when safe)
