How it was built? The Forbidden City is made of 980 buildings. It took 14 years to build and it took more than a million workers. It was built till 1409 to It covers 720,000 metres squared.

How IT Got It’s Name The Forbidden City got it’s name because most Chinese people were forbidden to enter it. Only the emperor and the people who were working for him and his wife and kids were the only ones allowed in the forbidden City.

What Is The Forbidden City? The Forbidden City is located in Beijing in China and it was the seat of the emperors from 1420 to The Forbidden City is now opened to tourists home and abroad.
