Presentation transcript:

THE PYRAMIDS WERE BUILT AS MAGIFICENT TOMB TO HOLD THE PHAROH’S BODY AFTER HIS DEATH. TO MAKE SURE THAT HE WOULD GO TO THE AFTER WORLD IT WAS BUILT ON THE WEST BANK OF THE NILE, WHERE THE SUN SET. MOST OF THE BUILDERS WORKED FOR THE KING A FULL MONTH EVERY YEAR ON ONE OF HIS BUILDING PROJECTS.

This is one of the biggest pyramids in Egypt. The Great Pyramid of Khufu continues, year after year, to give up a few more secrets, and there doubtless remains much more to learn from these Egyptian treasures.

Notice the people at the base of this Egyptian pyramid. This helps to show the size of the pyramid.

THE BLOCKS OF STONES WERE CARRIED BY BOAT ACROSS THE NILE. THE HEAVY STONES WERE CARRIED UP RAMPS INTO POSITION.WHEN THE PYRAMIDS WAS FINISHED THE RAMPS WERE REMOVED.

With the head of a warrior and the body of a lion, the Sphinx stands 240 feet long and sixty six feet tall There is not much known about the sphinx because its age and its builders are subjects of great mystery. THE GREAT SPHINX

TOMBS WERE FILLED WITH TREASURES MADE OF GOLD, PRECIOUS STONES, CLOTHES, FURNITURE, POTS, PANS, STATUES, PAINTINGS, WRITINGS AND EVEN, BOOKS. THE WALLS AND CEILINGS WERE GREATLY PAINTED ALL OVER. EMBED. THE TOMBS OF PHARAONS

There are many other Interesting things and places to visit in Egypt! NOT ONLY PYRAMIDS!

BUT ABOUT THIS INTERESTS WE WOULD LIKE TO SAY ANOTHER TIME! MAYBE...
