Effective Teaching Strategies Flexible grouping Differentiation Continuous Progress Monitoring Intellectual peer interaction-group projects Effective questioning strategies for deeper learning Varied complexity of tasks

CONTINUUM OF COMPLEXITY Harder tasks fatigue the brain, more complex tasks engage the brain. WAYS TASKS MAY BE ADJUSTED FOR COMPLEXITY: Degree of assistance and support Complexity of process Degree of structure Complexity of product Rate of instructional pacing Complexity of thinking skills Concrete to more abstract Quantity of resources Background knowledge WHAT DOES ALL THIS EVEN MEAN??? During the school year, the students in 7 th period World History will be given opportunities to highlight their learning in a variety of ways, using a variety of tools and resources of their choosing. The goal isn’t to make assignments harder, rather, the goal is to encourage students to push to higher levels of understanding.
