Why is self-management important? Self-management techniques are vital to be a successful sportsperson Overwhelmed by the workload Inability to manage commitments Poorly organised approach to life De-motivated Stressed Difficulty in maintaining a balanced lifestyle

A strategic Plan Self-management strategies include a range of strategies that you can use to change habitual behaviours: These strategies can actually aid in Skill Acquisition(Agran 1997) Reduce Coach/Teacher instruction time Monitoring/adapting behaviours Independent and competent learning

The secret to success Practical techniques you can adopt are: Learn to cope with stress Develop self-esteem (confidence) Develop effective strategies to cope with conflict Develop a positive attitude Learn to be patient Re-appraise your situation Learn from feedback Maintain a healthy lifestyle Manage your time better
