Secondary school admissions All parents of pupils in Year 6 at a Cardiff Primary School will receive an application form and a letter. These letters will be given to the pupils to take home. The letter will provide you with a user identification number so that you can apply for a secondary school place online. Or you can use the preference form provided. You must fill in the preference form and return it to us by the date given on the form. Your preferred school We recommend that you visit schools before you complete your application. Each school has its own prospectus and staff are happy to show parents around if you make an appointment. Please note that Roman Catholic schools and some Church in Wales schools have separate admission arrangements to other LEA schools.
