8 The New SATs The tests for Reading, SPAG & Maths are set and marked externally (as before) They will be more rigorous (!) National curriculum levels have now been scrapped No separate Level 6 papers A new marking scheme will be used for the first time Raw score – the actual number of marks the child achieves in their test. Scaled score – out of 100. This will be used to gauge whether the child has reached the national average (which has yet to be announced).
