CROSSING THE RED SEA

After death of his son, Pharaoh agreed to let Israelites go God guided them: pillar of cloud by day & fire by night With no slaves to work, Pharaoh changed his mind again! He took his army & chase after Israelites

After 5 days, they reached a dead-end, no where to go! RED SEA MOUNTAINS MOUNTAINS PHARAOH

SCARED COMPLAIN “Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the desert? … Let us alone … for it is better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert.” FAITH CALMNESS “Be of good courage. Stand still and see the Lord’s salvation which He will accomplish for you today.”

Moses stretched out hands, the Red Sea parted Israelites crossed over on dry ground!

SCARED! So what can we learn … How did the Israelites feel being chased? What can FEAR do to us? Bad things … We lose faith in God (forget God) We complain (unthankful) We become selfish (think only of ourselves) We become stubborn (stay in sin)

How to face our FEAR … Look up: ASK GOD FOR HELP “Do not be afraid … Stand still and see the Lord’s salvation which He will accomplish for you today” Get moving: LEAVE YOUR SINS “Tell the children of Israel to move forward. Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water ....” Lift up & Praise: SAY THANK-YOU! “Let us sing to the Lord for He is greatly glorified …”

How can we practice … CALL ON GOD … Pray always, Jesus prayer BE THANKFUL … Don’t complain REPENT & CONFESS … Let go of your sins & change
