Assignment #7: Failed Companies Choose a company for your group’s work Group presentation: Give a short history of the company, including a summary of their revenue history. What happened to the company? SWOT analysis of the company To what do you attribute the decline of the company? Didn’t they see this coming? Were they stupid? 5-7 minute group presentation with a few charts on 27 February. Companies to choose from: Atari Blockbuster Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) Enron Kodak Konarka (Thin film solar panels) Lucent Technologies (sold to Alcatel to form Alcatel-Lucent) Nortel (Northern Telecom) Pan American World Airways (Pan Am) Pets.com Polaroid Corporation Sun Microsystems (sold to Oracle) Wang Laboratories WorldCom OR You can choose a massive turnaround story: IBM at the time of Gerstner
