The Polar Ice Caps Are Melting! My Earth Day project about how the polar ice caps are melting and polar bears are going extinct. By: Grace Wilkins

Where is it happening: The polar ice caps are melting in the North Pole They are also melting in Antarctica The glaciers of Greenland are melting rapidly too

To whom is it effecting: The polar bears are being effected Because the ice caps are melting, polar bears’ habit is growing smaller There for the will either go extinct or have to adapt

Why/how it’s happening: One reason why it is happening is, the Greenhouse effect Another is burning fossil fuels (like driving) Scientists predict that the Arctic/Polar ice caps will melt entirely in 20 years

Why you should do something about it: One reason is that when the ice caps melt, the ocean raises If the ocean raises, the ocean could cover continents Also polar bears could go extinct (or adapt)

Why you should do something about it: (Continued) That is because they can’t swim for long and the would end up drowning because they had no where to rest Think about it: if the ice caps are melting then the Earth is getting warmer, and that can’t be good!

How to do something about it: First of all, do anything you can to stop Global Warming Global Warming is a big reason the ice caps are melting

How to do something about it: (Continued) Second of all, you can take public transit or bike instead of driving a car Or you we can all start to stop using factories

Final Motivation: If we don’t do anything about it, we could be swimming majorly in 20 years Also polar bears will go extinct if we don’t do anything

The polar bears thank you… And so do I!!!
