“From Me to You” Fundraising Programme Student Training Programme

What CARI Does... The Children at Risk in Ireland Foundation (CARI) is a charitable organisation Established in 1989 CARI aims to provide a professional, child centred therapy & counselling service to children, families & groups affected by sexual abuse CARI aims to support and assist the recovery process

What CARI Does... CARI provides therapy for children up to 18yrs who have been affected by sexual abuse and children up to 12yrs who present with sexualised behaviour CARI is only part funded by the HSE; the rest we raise ourselves 100% of funding goes to the children & resources for therapy

What CARI Does... CARI Services Advice Appointments Crisis Counselling Therapy Parental Support Court Accompaniment Outreach / Training Helpline

The purpose of the funding is to raise money for the ongoing services of therapy, accompaniment and helpline Money raised will go towards shortening waiting lists for children and increasing therapy hours. What CARI Wants To Do..

How Will CARI Do It..With Your Help! From Me2You is in the spirit of young people reaching out and helping young people so that they can move forward and not have their lives defined by the trauma of sexual abuse A fundraising package “From Me to You” will be given to the transition year students. They will be asked to hold various fundraising events throughout the year, after which they are encouraged to evaluate how they got on We would hope for a target of €1,000 to be reached within the year, however, every Euro will make the difference in the lives of young people attending CARI

The “From Me to You” Package A fundraising expert will come and advise the school and give; 1. A brief outline of what the CARI Foundation do 2. A listing of possible fundraising ideas 3. Templates & ideas for monitoring monies raised, targets reached 4. An evaluation sheet for the class on the process 5. Leaflets on all the services CARI provides 6. Certificate for the school on completion

What Does CARI Get... Our profile as an organisation will be increased on a local & national level We will raise our profile among children & young adults, which is invaluable for child protection Raising our online profile though “likes” on our Facebook page It will generate vital income for CARI, which will allow us too; - Buy art supplies, toys, other therapy resources - Allow us to help more young people - Help facilitate setting up a family support network for young people attending the sexual assault treatment unit

What Do The Students Get... “From Me to You” Fundraising Programme Package A choice of 3 out of 6 modules offered by CARI – 1 offered per term They get to develop such skills needed for organising, running & evaluating fundraising events – such as team building skills They will gain confidence in themselves and as a class from the “gift of giving” They will learn valuable life skills through the outreach programmes Advice and support for students interested in careers within the psychological; therapeutic field; Law and P.R.
