SWBAT practice writing leads  DO NOW:  In yesterday’s packet, open up to page 139.  I am going to assign you a number 1-6.  Write the lead.

GROUPS  You are going to get with the person who has the same number as you.  Share your lead sentence.  Put the best one on the board

Working With Newspapers  With the same group, I want you to look through the newspapers.  Use the sheets and markers, and write down the lead sentences that are most effective.

SHARE  We will share some of the sentences.  What do you notice about the sentences?  Quality  Good characteristics
