Online Recruitment System Update 7 th & 8 th December 2009

Why did we get an online system? Competition –Survey of 91 of the UK Higher Education institutions in 2007, indicated that 64% intended to develop an online system and 15% already had an online system. –Recruitment team’s own survey in 2007 of 25 of the School’s main competitors concluded that out of the 43% that don’t have an online recruitment system at present, 86% are planning to introduce one.

Testing Phase Started at the end of Lent Term 2009 User Committee Changes sent to WCN for action

Current Phase: Pilot Phase Started in July 2009 Total number of vacancies so far 28 (5 academic and 23 academic support) 1447 applications received

Feedback Issued Survey issued for 17 vacancies Survey went to candidates and recruiting managers. Candidates feedback on the ‘application form’: 29%(413 candidates) said that the system was ‘excellent’ and 44% (641 candidates) said that the system was ‘good’.
