THE CALL TO WORSHIP [ Pastor / CONGREGATION] Genesis 12:2; Proverbs 14:34; Isaiah 9:3; 26:2 “I will make you into a great nation," says the Lord, “AND I WILL BLESS YOU; I will make your name great, AND YOU WILL BE A BLESSING TO ALL THE EARTH.”

Righteousness exalts a nation, BUT SIN IS A DISGRACE TO ANY PEOPLE. O Lord, You have enlarged our nation; YOU HAVE INCREASED OUR JOY and we rejoice before You AS PEOPLE REJOICE AT THE HARVEST.

Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter, BLESSED IS THE NATION THAT KEEPS FAITH WITH THE LORD.

**THE OPENING HYMN #807 MY COUNTRY, ‘TIS OF THEE [ All who are able please stand ]

MY COUNTRY TIS OF THEE My country, 'tis of thee, Sweet land of liberty, Of thee I sing; Land where my fathers died, Land of the pilgrims' pride, From ev'ry mountainside Let freedom ring!

My native country, thee, Land of the noble free, Thy name I love; I love thy rocks and rills, Thy woods and templed hills; My heart with rapture thrills, Like that above.

Let music swell the breeze, And ring from all the trees Sweet freedom's song; Let mortal tongues awake; Let all that breathe partake; Let rocks their silence break, The sound prolong.

Our fathers' God to Thee, Author of liberty, To Thee we sing. Long may our land be bright, With freedom's holy light, Protect us by Thy might, Great God our King.

**AFFIRMING OUR FAITH AND NATION I pledge allegiance to the Christian flag, and to the Savior for whose Kingdom it stands; One Savior, crucified, risen and coming again, with life and liberty for all who believe. One family in Christ, uniting all believers in service and in love.

I pledge allegiance to the Bible, God's Holy Word: 'A lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path;' Its words will I hide in my heart that I might not sin against God.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

SILENT PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AND CONFESSION THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON 1 Peter 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade, kept in heaven for you.

OPEN OUR EYES LORD Open our eyes, Lord, we want to see Jesus, To reach out and touch Him, And say that we love Him; Open our ears, Lord, And help us to listen; Open our eyes, Lord, we want to see Jesus. (Please repeat)

A TIME OF SHARING WITH GOD’S CHILDREN OF ALL AGES

THE HEBREW SCRIPTURE Psalm 33:8-22 Read by Elder Roy Palk, J.D. Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood firm. The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He frustrates the plans of the peoples. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the thoughts of His heart to all generations.

BLESSED IS THE NATION WHOSE GOD IS THE LORD, the people whom He has chosen as His heritage. The Lord looks down from heaven; and He sees all humankind. From where He sits enthroned, He watches all the inhabitants of the earth; He who fashions the hearts of them all, and observes all their deeds. A king is not saved by his great army; A warrior is not delivered by his great strength.

The war horse is a vain hope for victory, and by its great might it cannot save. Truly the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His steadfast love, to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and shield. Our heart is glad in Him, because we trust in His holy name. Let Your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in You.

THE SERMON: ‘BLESSED IS THE NATION WHOSE GOD IS THE LORD’ Psalm 33:8-22 Bayshore Gardens Community Church Dr. Daniel Herlein

Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just; And this be our motto: ‘IN GOD IS OUR TRUST.’

Psalm 33:11-12 The plans of the Lord stand firm forever; the purposes of His heart through all generations; Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for His inheritance.

The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s Prayer OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME. THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE, ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD, AND FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS; AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL. FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM, AND THE POWER, AND THE GLORY FOREVER AMEN.

THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION

**THE CLOSING HYMN #804 THE BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC (Verses 1,3,4) [ All who are able please stand ]

My eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord; He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; He has loosed the fateful lightening of His terrible swift sword; His truth is marching on. Glory! Glory, hallelujah! Our God is marching on.

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never sound retreat; He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat; O be swift, my soul, to answer Him! Be jubilant, my feet! Our God is marching on. Glory! Glory, hallelujah! Our God is marching on.

In the beauty of the lilies, Christ was born across the sea, With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me; As He died to make men holy, Let us live to make men free, while God is marching on. Glory! Glory, hallelujah! Our God is marching on.

THE PASTORAL BENEDICTION Go forth from this place as God’s elect and covenant people... AMEN
