When you are traveling or working from home, you can read your and manage your mailbox and calendar in much the same way as you do from the office. 6 of 13 Back to Start:Back to Start: Working Remotely Connect to your computer at work Using Remote Web Workplace, you can connect to your computer at work so you can work with your data and programs as though you were there. To connect to your work computer, simply log on to Remote Web Workplace and click Connect to my computer at work from the main menu. Choose your computer from the Computer Names list, and then click Connect. The connection looks and behaves the same as if you were sitting in front of your computer at work. It’s that easy! If you have permission to remotely access your company’s computer network, all you have to do is log on to Remote Web Workplace and then click Use my company's internal Web site. You do not need any special security-related hardware or software, and you do not need to establish a separate connection to the server by using either Remote Web Workplace or Connection Manager. When you use Outlook via the Internet to access your company mailbox, you have the full functionality of Outlook at your fingertips. The Information and Answers page contains information about common topics, such as how to send faxes, share documents, work with your mailbox and calendar, and use Windows Mobile devices to stay connected when you are away from the office. You should receive an message that contains this address from the person who is responsible for your network. On the logon page for Remote Web Workplace, specify your connection speed and whether you are accessing the page from a public computer, and then click Log On. Connection Manager is a small program that automates the process of establishing a connection to your company network. It can be used for any type of connection (such as a connection through a dial-up modem or an “always on” cable connection), and it works with most versions of Microsoft Windows. You can easily install Connection Manager from Remote Web Workplace, as the next page shows.
