Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series

OHSAS 18001:2007 is a Occupational health and safety assessment series, it a tool which monitor and control the hazard at work zone due to individual ignorance, process, technology, product and services along it also enhance/boost the quality of products/services. The system focus on unacceptable occupational hazards and legal requirement. The standard ensures that the process, product and service provided by the organization had no hazardous impact on workers and the working zone is hazard free with its confirm to the regulatory requirement. ISO 18001:2007 is standards which defines the OHSAS requirements, which one organization need to maintain for getting certificate.

Step 1- Process Identification with their legal requirement Step 2- Process Input Identification (can be raw material, man power, flow diagrams, technology, etc) Step 3- Break the steps in activities Step 4- Perform hazard identification and risk assessment Step 5- Develop procedures/activity for non acceptable hazard at work zone Step 6- Review the process/activity for practical approach and develop work instruction

Step 7- Set the control measure at work zone with objective and targets (process/product/service) and make it aware to process owner Step 8- Internal Audit Step 9- Identify root cause for the Discrepancy Step 10- Corrective and preventive action is developed Step 11- MRM Review Step 12- Continual Process

 Adds preferential/privilege.  Improve processes/operations/services.  Clarity in responsibility and roles.  Objectives are quantified/measurable.  More preferable by the working staff.  Continual monitoring of system through analytical analysis.
