Chapter 1 Overview 3

Features and Benefits >> 1. Overview Solution Use remote worker features for effective and productive work on the road. Features and Benefits >> * Features New for V3 One Numbered Extension* Both of paired phones ring simultaneously. Call can be switched between paired phones by simple operation. Follow-me (CA integrate with public telephone number)* CA can work with Remote worker’s phone. External call or Internal call can be made through CA. Easy Remote Extension Installation with Built In Media Relay GW* Remote worker can use their IP desk Phone to anywhere by connecting to the internet. Enhance Transfer from Outside Destination* Mobile phone user out from office can transfer call to any location. Remote worker’s phone can ring as Extension Up to 4 outside phone number can be assigned as members of an Incoming Call Distribution (ICD) Group. Parallel Ringing at Office desk phone and Remote worker’s phone When an unanswered call is forwarded to an outside, such as a cellular phone, the forwarding extension will continue ringing until the forwarded call is answered at either phone. Remote worker can call through NS as Extension Registered cellular phone is automatically recognized as PBX extension when calling through DISA.

Chapter 2 Features 5

2. Features 2-1 One Numbered Extension Any combinations of wired phones or combination of wired phone and Media5 Softphone/other softphone can be used with same extension number in a pair. ITSP Internet Cellular NW Both of paired phones ring simultaneously. VPN VPN One touch transfer between paired phones by feature dial or pressing FF key (*1) (Media5-Phone) Virtual Extn.100 (Sub Extn.101) NS1000 Same number can be sent as caller id when outgoing call from either paired phone. SMDR data is shown as main extension number when either paired phone handles calls. While one of the paired extensions is busy status, the extension for one number cannot be called and the originator has busy tone. And also DSS key for one number shows busy at the time. Message waiting lamp can be controlled to both paired phones. Main Extn.200 Virtual Extn.200 (Sub Extn.201) Main Extn.100 <Wired/Softphone combination> <Wired/Wired combination> (*1) The function code is `*41+NNN` (NNN: Pared Extension #), Need to set up this to FF-Key for One touch Operation

2-1. One Numbered Extension The following table shows availability of the feature with combination of type of terminals. Sub terminal IP-PT/UT series DPT/APT SIP DECT 3rd Party SIP-SLT Soft-phone Legacy PS SLT IP-PT/UT series OK SIP based DECT NA 3rd Party SIP-SLT Main terminal Note: Wireless terminal could not work as main terminal. Wired Extension and Legacy PS can be paired by Wireless XDP feature.

2. Features 2-1 One Numbered Extension Extension Database COS setting and other extension setting of main extension are shared with sub extension. Status control and DSS key While one of the paired extensions is busy status, the extension for one number cannot be called and the originator will hear busy tone. (in case of C.Waiting OFF)   DSS key that has main extension number shows busy status when either main extension or sub extension has in busy status.  CLIP CLIP data of main extension is adopted when sub extension makes an outgoing call, when internal call from sub extension, the main extension number and extension name is shown on the destination of LCD.  SMDR SMDR data is shown as main extension number when either paired phone handles calls.  Message waiting Lamp Message waiting lamp can be controlled to both paired phones.  Mailbox Mailbox for main extension is shared with sub extension while pairing.

2. Features 2-1 One Numbered Extension Call log Wireless XDP   Call log data is combined between paired extensions and user can use combined data as call log. Note: UT series SIP phone and other type of SIP phone, which includes softphone, cannot be used the data because they have call log data in themselves locally. Wireless XDP Main extension and sub extension of this feature cannot be assigned as main extension of wireless XDP.  Other conditions Basically, other conditions related between main extension and sub extension obeys conditions of wireless XDP feature.

2. Features 2-2 Follow-me (CA integrate with public telephone number) CA can work with mobile phone or home phone. Outgoing call or internal call can be made by using CA from outside. Mobile/Home phone caller can make call to outside party without own call charge. It is charged to PBX. This feature only works with CA Pro. Outside party 4) Carrier 3) 2) Router VPN Mobile phone, home phone <Drop-Down List> Router PC (CA) Phone (Office): 8012 Phone (Mobile): 0901234567 Phone (Home): 0921234567 Custom Phone Number 1) [Operation scenario] (Case of mobile phone) 1)Input dial number for Outside party, and select “phone (Mobile)” as user device. 2)PBX make call to mobile phone and user receives the call with the mobile phone. 3)PBX make call to outside party. 4)Onece Outside party answers, conversation is established between mobile phone and outside party. Note: LCOT is not available for follow-me feature.

2. Features 2-3 Easy Remote Extension Installation with Built In Media Relay GW Media Relay GW provide remote worker environment with easy installation. By the function, just install extension without any extra setting at remote site. Office Remote Location - A Remote Location - B Internet Media Relay GW This function will be available for KX-NT500 series, KX-UT series SIP phone and 3rd Party SIP phone Note: P2P function does not work on this environment, need DSP power resource NT54x series needs firmware update for the feature. (Version 01.020 or later) 3rd Party SIP Phone must support Blank UDP transmit capability, such as Media5, Bria. <Procedure> 1) Set Router Configuration - Set Port forwarding (SIP/PTAP/MGCP/RTP) 2) Setup NS1000 by Web-MC - Set Media relay feature: Enable - Set Global IP address of router (etc…) 3) Set IP Phone - IP Phone registration into NS1000 - Configure Office router’s IP address and PTAP port that are opened at router in IP phone. 4) Plug the phone into the network at remote site

Built-in Media Relay GW 2. Features 2-3 Easy Remote Extension Installation with Built In Media Relay GW Comparison with external SBC External SBC Internet Router WAN LAN Comparison List (Meia5 501eSBC example) Built-in Media Relay GW External SBC (Media5 501eSBC series) Available Terminal KX-NT5xx, KX-UT series, Standard SIP phone KX-UT series, Standard SIP phone Equipment Requirement No additional equipment Router, SBC Compatibility for Encryption (Signaling) No Yes (TLS) Security Gateway function (dividing the network into LAN and WAN) Yes

2. Features 2-3 Easy Remote Extension Installation with Built In Media Relay GW Item Summary Max phone number No limitation (Depend on NS1000 DSP resources) Note: P2P communication cannot be used under this remote connection, so that it needs to take care of DSP resource for the feature. Encryption No encryption for signaling (SIP/PTAP/MGCP) and media (RTP). TR069(CWMP) for UT phone is available with https. Number of https session is Up to 20 for each unit. If user wants secure communication, using VPN connection is recommended instead of this remote connection. V3 also supports built-in VPN router function. Please see “4 NS1000 V3.0 Maintenance Feature Enhancement_xxx.pptx” for detail. Since PBX system does not know actual IP address that is assigned local phones, so that peer to peer connection of media (RTP) cannot be established even telephones are installed in same network on remote site.

2. Features 2-4 Enhance Call Transfer to Outside Destination feature Mobile phone user can transfer a call via NS1000 to any location such as outside user or other PBX via TIE line. It is currently limited to transfer within own PBX only. Call to Ext101 (2) B Ext201 NS1000 PSTN PSTN Other PBX (3) DISA DISA (4) PSTN (1) C A The call from “outside” is reached to “A” via NS1000 is transferred to “any location”.
