Should you use genetically altered food based?

 Genetically modified foods are when scientists insert genes into food sources to alter the DNA and produce new proteins that lead to new characteristics in the plants. By inserting a gene into a particular plant, the resulting protein may make the plant resistant to insects or resistant to a particular herbicide. Other genetic modifications improve the nutritional quality of the food or improve its shelf life.

 Pest Resistance-By inserting a certain gene, farmers can make crops pest resistance and potentially save a lot of crops from insects! Pest Resistance  Disease Resistance-There are many disease that can be found in plants and when genetically modified, the plants can be safe from them!  Nutrition- Nutrition can be added into foods to enhance them.  Economical-In the long run by using genetically modified foods it will save farmers a lot of crops and money, even though initially it could be costly. Economical  Herbicide Resistance-This will reduce the amount of weeds around the crops!  Quality-The quality after being inserted with certain genes makes the food better!  Weather-Genetically modified food can make crops able to withstand extreme weathers. Weather  Shelf life-The shelf life is longer then a food that has not been genetically modified food!

 Unlabeled- In America people generally do not label there food if it was genetically modified, why hide them if nothings wrong with them. Unlabeled  Toxins- Genetic engineering can cause unexpected mutations in an organism, which can create new and higher levels of toxins in foods. Toxins  Pollution- Gene pollution can not be cleaned up!  Expense- Initially the cost can be very high!
