 The References list starts on a new page.  Use a shortened version of the title of your paper (no more than 50 characters, including punctuation and spaces) a header in top left corner. Place the page number in the top right corner.  Center the word “References” at the top of the page. Do not underline or add quotation marks.

 Double space the entire list.  Begin each entry at the left margin. Indent each additional line of the citation.  Author, A. (2010),  Do not add extra spaces between citations.  Alphabetize the list of references by author’s last name.

 EXAMPLE of BASIC FORMAT  Highmore, B. (2001). Everyday life and cultural theory. New York: Routledge.  Author’s last name, first initial. (year of publication). Title. City of Publication: Publisher. (These colors are used as a learning tool. Don’t color coordinate your Works Cited page!!)  All other citations are variations of this basic format.  Note the major differences between this citation and MLA style.

 For a book/work without an author but with an editor, enter the editor’s last name, first initial followed by (Ed.).  Example: Duncan, G.J. (Ed.).  For a book/work with an author and an editor, use the format on the previous slide and insert the editor’s name after the title of the work.  Example: Plath, S. (2000). The unabridged journals. (K. V. Kukil, (Ed. ) New York: Anchor.

 Cite the total number of volumes after the title of the work.

 Author’s last name, Author’s first initial. (publication year). Article Title. Journal Title, volume number, page numbers.  Example: Morawski, J. (2000) Social Psychology a Century Ago. American Psychologist, 55,
