2 Format: General Guidelines  Header with student’s last name and page number in the upper right corner on every page  1 inch margins  Double space  12 point Times New Roman Font  White paper, black ink

3 Formatting the 1st Page  No title page  Double space everything  In the upper left corner of the 1st page, list your name, your teacher's name, the class, and date  Center the paper title (use standard caps but no underlining, italics, quote, or bold)  Create a header in the upper right corner at half inch from the top and one inch from the right of the page (include your last name and page number)

5 Citing: Author-Page Style In-text Example: Introduce the quote “quote" (Author’s last name page). NOTE: You do NOT need to repeat the author’s last name in a second quotation in the same paragraph.

6 Citing: Internet Source Introduce the quote “quote" (Author’s Last Name, “Title of Internet Article”).

7 Citing: Long Quotations More than 3 lines of text is a long quote Introduce the quote: Provide the quote. Be sure to indent one tab. Do not place the quote inside quotation marks. Include end punctuation after the quote. (Author’s Last Name page)

8 Adding/Omitting Words In-text Example for Adding Words: Introduce the quote “begin quote [add words in brackets] finish the quote" (Author’s Last Name page number). In-text example for Omitting Words: Introduce the quote “begin the quote... finish the quote" (Author’s last name page number).

10 Works Cited Page: Books Basic Format: Last name, First name. Title of Book. Place of Publication: Publisher, Year of Publication. Medium of Publication.

11 Works Cited Page: Web Web Source Format: Editor, author, or compiler name (if available). “Article Name.” Name of Site. Version number. Name of institution/organization affiliated with the site (sponsor or publisher). Date of last update. Medium of publication. Date of access.

12 Annotated Bibliography Follow general formatting guidelines Follow guideline for formatting the first page Follow the same rules for a Works Cited page. Provide the Works Cited entry for the book or Internet source. Provide a paragraph explaining what the source is and how you plan to use it.
