Justice Programme Judicial training DG JUSTICE

Funding programmes Criminal Justice Programme Civil Justice Programme Calls did not target exclusively judicial training Justice Programme (EUR million) 35% allocated to judicial training A targeted call will be launched annually

General objective of the Programme "to contribute to the further development of a European area of justice based on mutual recognition and mutual trust and in particular by promoting judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters. "

Specific objectives of the Programme To facilitate judicial cooperation (civil & criminal) To promote judicial training, including language training on legal terminology, with a view to fostering a common legal and judicial culture To facilitate access to justice To support drug policy initiatives re judicial cooperation and crime prevention aspects

Annual Work Programme 2014 Planning document for the Justice Programme, adopted in April /files/justice_awp_2014_act_en.pdf /files/justice_awp_2014_act_en.pdf Priority for judicial training is to contribute to the effective and coherent application of EU law in the areas of civil law, criminal law, and fundamental rights (12 legal instruments) and linguistic skills and knowledge of the legal systems

Call for proposals 2014 Launch: July 2014, priorities from AWP 2014 with reflection of the outcome of this workshop Deadline: mid November 2014 Budget: EUR 5 million Type of activities: training, exchanges, creation of training content, and tools for training providers

Selection procedure (1) Applications are assessed against admissibility, eligibility, selection and award criteria Submission of your application through PRIAMOS Minimum EU grant awarded: EUR Co-funding rate: 80% Transnational projects only: min. 2 MS

Selection procedure (2) who can participate? All public and private organisations and entities, and international organisations Profit-oriented organisations: conditional access Established in the EU MS participating in the Programme (except the UK and Denmark) Third countries: EEA, candidate countries

Selection procedure (3) Selection: operational/professional capacity and financial capacity of the applicant Award: relevance, quality, European added value, expected results, long-term impact, and cost-effectiveness GUIDE FOR APPLICANTS

Target groups judiciary and judicial staff, i.e. judges, prosecutors and court officers, as well as lawyers, notaries, bailiffs, probation officers, mediators and court interpreters.
