Contents Why do need renewable energy ? How does wind energy work? Examples and pictures Advantages Disvantages Future Quiz-(have you been listening] Question time

How does wind energy work? The force of the wind turns the rotor( which is like a huge propeller) The rotor is connected to a generator; this is machine that contains coils of wire and powerful magnets. When the coils are spun quickly inside the magnets, they produce electricity.

Why do we need renewable energy? We need renewable energy because all the fossil fuels are running out. Renewable energy never runs out.

pictures

advantages Once the wind tur bine is built, running costs are low. No waste or pollution is produced. The land occupied by a wind farm can still be used for farming. Wind farms can become tourist attractions.

disadvantages No wind power Some people object because they feel wind farms spoil the view. Wind farms create a constant low-level noise. They can interfere with television reception and radar.

Future  In the future we may run out of fossil fuels.  Also the price of fossil fuels are rising.  And to deliver fossil fuels is very expensive.

Quiz have you been listing? Why do we need renewable energy? What are wind turbines? How do wind turbines work? What is wind energy?
