Verb Tense Verb tense shows when an action has taken place. The verb phrase include the main verb plus any helping verb. Today we will learn about the: Present perfect tense Past perfect tense

Present Perfect The present perfect is used to show that an event happened at an unspecified time before now. The present perfect uses the helping verbs have and has plus the past tense of the main verb. Example: I have seen that movie twice already. We don’t know when they saw the move (unspecified)

Past Perfect The past perfect tense of a verb names an action that took place before another action or event in the past. The past perfect uses the helping verb had plus the past tense of the main verb. Example: We had just arrived when the play began.

Future Perfect The future perfect tense of a verb names an action that will be completed before another future event begins. The future perfect is formed by adding will have or shall have before the past tense of the verb. Example: By next week the production will have closed.
