2 degrees: B.Eng. (Hons) – 4 year course M.Eng. – 5 year course – > 60% in B.Eng. B.Eng./M.Eng. Biomedical Engineering Dr Phil Riches, Course Director

The Course: Years 1 and 2: Fundamental core engineering and life science classes. Mechanical engineering Electrical engineering Biomedical Science Year 3 Further core engineering and life science, with specialist Biomedical Engineering classes. E.g. Biomechanics Biomaterials Years 5 (M.Eng. only) Compulsory group project entrepreneurship in BME Further optional specialist Biomedical Engineering classes Year 4: Specialist Biomedical Engineering classes. E.g. Biomedical Instrumentation Biomedical Electronics Professional Studies individual project + large choice of options

Admissions B.Eng. Highers –AAAB –Maths, physics at A A-levels –ABB –Inc. maths and physics M.Eng. Highers –AAABB/AAAA –Maths, physics at A A-levels –AAB –Inc. maths and physics It’s not a requirement, but without higher/GCSE biology at B or above, you are unlikely to be given an offer. Offers are usually at AH level for non “straight A” candidates. Minimum requirements: Engineering Academy route being investigated – not currently available
