Select Nurse Follow from the menu. Proceed to a room and check in by pressing the appropriate registration button. If a call is placed within the master’s zone assignments, a tone will sound. This is to inform the staff member that a call is active elsewhere. This call indication can be silenced by pressing the reset button on the patient’s station. To change rooms, press the appropriate registration button to check out of the room. Go to the next desired room and press the appropriate registration button to check in. Press it again when leaving the room. To disengage the feature, return to the master station and deselect Nurse Follow from the menu.

If the master station is already in communication, the message “Audio Channel Busy” will appear. Receive a Call from Another Master Station: Receive a Call from Another Master Station: The Audio Status box will display the master number and the message “INCOMING.” Pick up the handset, or reply hands-free. If the originating master has audio pre-announce tones enabled, the receiving master will hear pre-announce tones.

Staff service requests may also be made while communicating with a station by pressing the L1, L2 or L3 button. The station name and “L1 Req,” “L2 Req” or “L3 Req” will appear in List View and on the room icon in Icon View. To cancel a staff service request, select the room and press the L1, L2 or L3 button.

System—Pages all stations on the system. Pick up the Handset and speak as desired, or press and hold the TALK button to speak. (Note: The ability to listen is disabled when paging is engaged.) Besides their nurse call and intercom functions, pillow speakers can control room lights, reading lights and TV functions.

Call placement can be verified by the flashing of the call-placed light. A cord-out call will automatically be placed if the call cord or pillow speaker is removed from the patient station without first disabling cord-out supervision. Respond to a Call: Reply in a normal voice when spoken to. Audio communication will usually originate with the patient station speaker and microphone. If pillow speakers are being used, audio communications are through the pillow speaker and patient station microphone (pillow speaker module required). Cancel a Call: Press the reset button until the call-placed LED is extinguished. To cancel a cord-out call, replace the call cord in the patient station’s call-cord jack.

Duty Station Provides the communication feature of the staff station, plus an additional point of annunciation for the nurse call system in locations that are not within sight or hearing of the nurse master console. Custom paging options are easily handled using the NC402TS Master Station’s slide-out keyboard and touchscreen. Predefined messages can be created to quicken the action. Three levels of pagers can be assigned: primary, secondary and tertiary, to ensure call response.
