21 Typical Room Wiring

22 P5 Station Wiring Scheme
All IR series P5 stations use the same wiring scheme which includes: Two 8P8C jacks for common cable connection (Not specific, In & Out are electrically the same) One 6P6C jack for Dome Light connection One 12 pin header for peripheral connections One 7 pin header for peripheral connections Optionally, the PM421P5/PM422P5 Pillow Speaker and Light Control Module if used, provides either one or two 6-pin headers

23 Peripheral Wiring

24 Intercom & Light Modules
The PM421P5 and PM422P5 Pillow Speaker Intercom Modules provide SF41ZDL/ZKL pillow speakers with nurse call intercom, plus on/off control of two lamp sources, generally one room lamp and one reading lamp. The PM421P5 is designed to plug into IR411P5 Single Patient Stations and the PM422P5 is designed to plug into IR412P5. If desired, standard SF401A Call Cords may be used without removing the modules.

26 IR400 P5 Multipurpose Station

27 LI484P5 Dome Lamp Wiring Corridor lights provide visual indication from IR400P5 series stations and associated peripheral devices. Multicolor LEDs allow the devices to indicate all system call types with various flash rates and color combinations. When connected to an IR415P5 Duty Station, the corridor light functions as a Zone light. Locate the corridor light above or beside the doorway of its associated room, and mount it so that unobstructed visibility is provided. When used as zone lights, mount them at corridor heads or junctions so that facility staff can readily identify the associated zone area. The lights must be within 50 cable-feet of associated duty stations.

28 PM484ZP5 Zone Lamp Module Wiring
Zone lights are configured in the field by plugging a PM484ZP5 Zone light module onto a LI484P5 Dome light. Zone lights are stand alone devices and can be configured to annunciate calls by zone. Secondarily, the Zone light supports one Bath and one Code input and can be used to when a standalone switch is desired.

29 Addressing: IR400P5 Series Stations
Each station has a unique 4-digit address, which consists of its two-digit PM455 module number (01–75) plus its two-digit station number (00–63). The station number is based on the PM455 station port number and dipswitch settings. For a station on station port #1, add the values of all switches that are turned on. For a station on station port #2, add 32 plus the values of all switches that are turned on. Run 2 Port #2 Run 1 Example: CE number = 1 PM455 module number = 05 Station run is plugged into station port #1 Dipswitches all on, station number = 31 Default station address = 0531 Port #1 Run 2 Run 1 ON Switch # ON Value 1 1 2 2 3 4

30 SF401EX Strain Relief Cable
The SF401EX Strain Relief Cable is used to increase the life span of call cords, pillow speakers and room stations. The cable is placed between the call cord or pillow speaker and the room station. If the call cord or pillow speaker is attached to a bed and then the bed is pulled away, the strain relief cable disconnects. This prevents damage to both the room station and the call cord or pillow speaker. UL® 1069 Listed Molded connectors Clean break-away action Increases life of call cords, pillow speakers and room stations

31 Integrations

32 NC470 Tek-BRIDGE® PC The Tek-BRIDGE® PC includes the platform for Tek-MMARS®400 software and for software modules that interface to ancillary equipment and the facility’s network. Microsoft® Windows®-based server with installed network card. LS486 Tek-MMARS®400 Management, Monitoring and Reporting System software Database logging of Nurse Call Activity HTML-based Reporting Software— accessible via network connection Back-up, Archive and Restore functions

33 Software Release v. 5323 and later: CSV Output
The Tek-MMARS®400 system now has the ability to output data into a .csv file, making it easy to manipulate files in programs like Excel.

34 Radio Pocket Paging Both Automatic and Manual radio pocket paging are included. Associating rooms with staff or zones delivers the correct room, bed number and call type of each incoming call. The Custom Paging options is easily handled by using the touch screen and or slide out keyboard in the NC402TS Nurse Master Console. Canned messages can be created to quicken the action. Three levels of pagers can be assigned; primary, secondary and tertiary to ensure calls are responded to.

35 LS453 Email Output Interface
Nurse call system notifications can now be sent to staff addresses, adding another means of communication. Set up the mail server settings and add addresses on the LS450 Config Tool’s tab.

36 LS453 Email Output Interface
Once addresses are added, they can be assigned to staff via the Staff tab as a device such as a phone, pager, or badge.

37 LS453 Email Output Interface
This allows staff assignments to send nurse call messages via .

38 LS452 ADT Interface Our LS452 ADT Interface Software using the HL7 Standard runs on the NC470 Tek-BRIDGE® PC, which is connected to both the Tek-CARE®400 Nurse Call System and the facility’s network. The LS452 software receives patient information from the facility’s Admit, Discharge, Transfer system via the facility’s network. Patient name, room/bed number and doctor name are then displayed on NC402TS Touchscreen Nurse Master Stations. Programming is quickly done via the config tool. With this software release, accessing a facility’s Hospital Information System maintains a focus on patient census information for use in nurse-call-related activities and on patient and bed data for bed management. Not only does this interface support efficient patient care by providing detailed patient information, but administration will benefit from monitoring and reporting features to ensure the facility is operating at an optimal level.

39 Media Gateway — VoIP Phone Interface
The NC465 Media Gateway adds VoIP integration to the Tek-CARE®400 system. The media gateway provides call and event notifications to facility VoIP extensions and delivers pertinent information on the telephone display. The NC465 also provides two-way voice communication between patient room stations and facility VoIP extensions. The NC465 Media Gateway connects the Tek-CARE®400 system to the facility’s IP PBX system via the facility’s LAN.

40 Media Gateway — VoIP Phone Interface
With the NC4654 Media Gateway, staff can use VoIP phones to: place a call to a patient station, automatically answer a patient call, manually clear a routine level call, page all stations or a single zone, set a nurse or aide service request to a patient station, set a STAT request to a patient station, monitor a zone, use nurse attend.

41 LS451 Versus Tracking Interface: Staff Emergency
