To figure out what a question is asking follow these steps: 1.Find the question word and figure out what it is asking* 2.Find the verb and figure out what it means. 3.Figure out the subject† of the sentence (the subject will match the form of the verb). 4.Put this information together. *Sometimes there is no question word. Instead, the verb acts as a question word. †Sometimes the subject is not stated, and you will have to figure it out from the verb.

(The verb is van, a form of ir, which means to go.) 3.Figure out the subject† of the sentence.
