Double Object Pronouns… …like to have fun.

What happens if we use DOPs an IOPs together?!?!  In English, do this frequently….  The Backstreet Boys gave them to you.

In Spanish, here is the word order: Subject+IOP+DOP+Verb So it looks like this: Los Backstreet Boys te los dio.

One exceptional rule…  If you have something like this: Osama bought it for him. Osama bought it for him. Osama le lo compró. Osama le lo compró. Then we are faced with a tounge twister….

The solution??  Change the “le” to “se.”  So it looks like this: Obama se lo compró. Obama se lo compró.

GREAT! Let’s practice!  1. Mr. Spencer needs it (f) for them(m).  2. Who told it (m) to you?  3. Mr. Garner and I answered them (m)for you.  1. Mr. Spencer se la necesita.  2. ¿Quién te lo dijo?  3. Mr. Garner y yo te los contestamos.
