Chapter 4  Files and Folders:  Folders hold files, while files are items created using application software such as MS Word and MS Excel  Files have extensions that define the application they have been created with, ex: File1.DOC created with MS Word File2.XLS created with MS Excell File3.JPG, File4.BMP, File5.GIF represent Graphic

Chapter 4  Windows Explorer: File Manager  Right Click on start menu and select Explore  From Start Menu Select Programs Select Windows Explorer >>

Chapter 4  Windows Explorer:  Displays all the drives on the left side of the screen  Displays the folders and files contained in the drives on the right side of the screen.  The (+) sign expands the content of the drives and folders, while the (-) sign unexpands the content of the drives and folders

Chapter 4  Creating Folders:  Select the drive or the folder you would like to add a folder to from the left side of the screen >Select File from the menu > Select New fro the File menu > Select Folder >Name your folder

Chapter 4  Copying Files and folders:  Select the File or folder you would like to copy > Select Edit from the menu toolbar >Select Copy from the Edit menu > Select your destination drive or folder > Select Edit from the menu toolbar > Select Paste form the Edit Menu
