2 Before you can work with a file, you must open it. There are several ways to open a file. You can: Use the Recent Items option on the Start menu to view a list of recently saved files Double-click a file shortcut icon if one exists on the Windows desktop. Double-click a file name from within Windows Explorer Use the Open dialog box provided by an application
