What was the Scientific Revolution? Time period when scientists began to base the study of the world on observable fact rather than on beliefs and superstitions Also known as the Enlightenment

Who were the important people of the Scientific Revolution? Nicholas Copernicus (1473-1543): Polish astronomer, mathematician, physician, scholar, governor, diplomat, economist, soldier Responsible for the heliocentric theory, which states that the sun (not the earth) is the center of the universe

The French people, who feel they are being mistreated under a tyrannical king, will see the American colonists rebel against and defeat English King George III, and it will be a great influence on them to start their own revolution.
